Gas Light – Ordering & Return Policy & Privacy Policy
ORDERING AND RETURN POLICY:
Please inspect your product(s) immediately upon
receipt! Should you find any damage or defects, please
notify Charleston Gas Light at (877) 427-5483 as soon as possible!
Charleston Gas
Light warrants its products to be free from
mechanical defects incurred during anufacturing and any damages
incurred during shipping. All products are
shipped insured, but this insurance is voided if an inspection
and claim aren’t made within two business days of
receipt. In order to ensure you receive the finest in service and quality,
Charleston Gas Light requests that you acknowledge
certain terms and conditions before your order can be completed.
ORDERING:
- Customer must sign, fax, mail, or
email acknowledgement of his/her order and sign the Terms
and Conditions form before
Charleston Gas Light (CGL) can complete an order.
- Any problems regarding lanterns must be addressed directly
by Charleston Gas Light by calling or emailing
Charleston Gas Light immediately.
- Charleston Gas Light warrants that its lanterns are free
from mechanical defects and damages incurred
during manufacturing and shipping. All products are shipped
insured, but this insurance is voided if an inspection and
claim aren’t made within two business days of receipt.
DAMAGED GOODS, RETURNS, AND EXCHANGES:
- Charleston
Gas Light will authorize and pay for the return of any product
that has been inspected, is
discovered to be damaged, AND is reported to CGL as
damaged within two business
days of receipt. Failure to inspect the merchandise and report damage
will result in delays in ensuring customer
satisfaction.
- The ORIGINAL packaging must be saved for inspection
by the shipping carrier for any merchandise that
is
discovered upon inspection to be damaged.
- Because all of our lanterns are custom made, any
approved return or exchange for any reason
other than
that covered in clause (1) of RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
will incur a restocking fee of $150 or 20%,
whichever is greater, of the total sale price per
lantern.
- Any returned product must be returned in its
original packaging or in equivalent packaging.
- The customer is responsible for insuring the
package for full value and shipping of
all products returned
for
any reason other than those covered in
clause one (1) of RETURNS AND EXCHANGES.
- Lanterns cannot be returned for any reason
after they have been hung or mounted
on a wall, post,
or
column.
- Lanterns cannot be fitted with electronic
igniters and finishes cannot be added
seven days after order
placement.
- CGL is not responsible for damage due
to Acts of God, incorrect mounting,
or improper installation.
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Seeded glass, frosted glass,
or otherwise special order glass is not recommended
on natural gas or
liquid
propane lanterns and is not guaranteed
by CGL.
- Copper or solid tops are recommended
on all Liquid Propane (LP) lanterns.

Information Collection
Charleston Gas Light is the sole owner of the information collected
on www.charlestongaslight.com. Charleston Gas Light collects
information from our users at several different points on our
Web site.
Request Catalogue and Contact Us Pages
We request information from the user on our Request Catalogue
and Contact Us pages. A user must provide contact information
(such as name, email, and shipping
address). This information is used to ship the user, by USPS
mail or by email, requested information or printed information.
Profile
We store information that we collect
through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties
to create a profile of our users.
A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users
that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected
information is tied to the users personally identifiable information
to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the
user. This profile is used to tailor a user’s visit to
our Web site, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to
them. We
do not share your profile with other, unnecessary, third parties
(see Third Party Intermediaries).

Special Offers and Updates
Established customers will occasionally receive information on
products, services, special deals, and newsletters. Out of respect
for the privacy of our users, we present the option to not receive

services and in regards to issues relating to their account we
reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.

We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit
card processing company to bill users for goods and services.

Because our products are handcrafted to order and not available
for purchase on our site, a user's personal financial information
is NOT requested via our forms online. ALL information requested
on our web site is transmitted to us via unsecured email. These

credit card number or social security
number) in any field in our forms on our web site. Users will only
